When it comes to working out, I get bored and discouraged quickly. Running on the treadmill and going nowhere; seems like a waste. Taking a class; I always feel lost. Lifting weights; words can’t express my embarrassment when the women half my size are lifting twice the amount of weight as me. With all these excuses, it’s a wonder I continue to pay almost $100 each month on a gym membership that I don’t use to the fullest. So when I found a workout that I actually love to do, I thought that I should share it with everyone.
A few years ago my sister fell and broke her leg in three spots. After several operations, it was time for her to go through months of physical therapy. With all of the advanced tools available, it surprised me to learn that my sister was building the strength in her leg by using her own body weight as resistance. And she wasn’t using some pricey Pilate’s machine, but the affordably priced Total Gym, which you’ve probably seen on a late night infomercial with Chuck Norris and Christie Brinkley.
I’ve seen this product advertised for years, but recently came across it on QVC where it was a “Today’s Special Value.” I paid approximately $200 for the machine – about the same I’d pay for two months of gym fees – and within a week it arrived at my front door, already assembled and ready for use.
I’ve been using the TotalGym for a few weeks now, and am amazed at the results. My fitness goal was to tone and pack on some muscle mass in time for summer, and though I’m nowhere near my goal, I’m well on my way. I can already see my biceps increasing (about half an inch so far) and the fat around my midsection melting away (still have a lot more to shed).
So if you’re like me and always have an excuse not to workout, then you should try the Total Gym. It’s convenient, easy to use, and because it’s at home, you never have to travel far to squeeze in a quick workout. Move over Chuck, I’m gunning for your job.
